Advantages And Disadvantages Of Small Bath Dyeing Of Textiles
Advantages and disadvantages of small bath dyeing of textiles
Importance of dye bath ratio
The ratio of dye to bath is directly related to the concentration of dyes and chemicals in dyeing machine. Therefore, the dye uptake and fixation rate are related to dye stability, dyeing levelness and reproducibility.
The dye uptake and fixation rate in a certain range increase with the decrease of bath ratio. The rate of increase of different dyes is different, and the rate of fixation rate is not different from that of dye uptake. Generally speaking, the dye uptake rate increases faster than the fixation rate.
Because the small bath ratio can not only accelerate the dye uptake rate, but also improve the fixation rate to a certain extent, it can reduce the amount of salt, that is, low salt dyeing, and can improve the utilization rate of dyes and alkali agents.
Generally speaking, small bath dyeing has the following advantages: reducing the consumption of energy and water, reducing the amount of salt and alkali, reducing the amount of dyes, improving the reproducibility of dyes and levelling.
Difficulties encountered in achieving small bath ratio
Although small bath ratio dyeing has many advantages, there are many difficulties in achieving small bath ratio dyeing. The lower the bath ratio, the greater the risk and difficulty for dyeing.
It is required that the solubility and stability of dyes in small bath is better than that in dyestuffs. Especially when dyeing dark colored varieties and multiple dyes, the dependence of different dyes on bath ratio is different.
The contradiction between solubility and stability of dyes is mainly reflected in the liquid distribution tank, because the concentration of dye in the distribution tank is much higher than that in the dye tank.
Another difficulty of small bath ratio dyeing is levelling, requiring dyeing equipment to circulate and apply good equipment.
On the basis of ensuring the dyeing quality, the small bath ratio uniform flow dyeing machine has a bath ratio of 1:5 to 1:4, so that the formula cost, steam consumption and water consumption are obviously reduced. The consumption of uniform dyeing process at different bath ratios is compared.
The consumption of the bath at 1:12 is 100%. When 1:4, the steam consumption is 23.8 kg/kg fabric, the formula cost is 25.4%, and the water consumption is 33L/kg fabric.
The energy saving, consumption reduction and emission reduction of small bath ratio are obvious.
