Intangible Cultural Heritage; National Costume

He Fengqin makes insoles with national characteristics

Yichang, Beijing, August 14 (Zhu Yanyun, kaisiqi and Zhang Kexin) "I want to pass on the traditional Tujia costumes and let us know more about our Tujia culture." He Fengqin, who lives in Changyang Tujia Autonomous County, Hubei Province, said in an interview on the 13th.

Changyang has a long history and is the birthplace of Tujia nationality. In 2011, he Fengqin, who originally worked in a garment factory in Wuhan, returned to Changyang to start a business with love for his hometown. After returning home, she set up a clothing factory and her business was booming.

In 2017, he Fengqin initiated the idea of transforming the production of Changyang Tujia ethnic costumes. She visited museums and folk artists, participated in national cultural and creative training in Beijing, Wuhan, and other places, visited Guizhou, Hunan and other places to learn the production techniques of ethnic costumes, and created the first "intangible cultural Heritage workshop" of Changyang Tujia brocade ethnic costumes.

Traditional costume production has a long construction period and high labor cost. He Fengqin innovates and improves it. On the basis of retaining the traditional Tujia culture, he adds fashion features to create "national tide intangible cultural heritage", so that Tujia ethnic costumes "fly into ordinary people's homes". National costume culture should not be put on the shelf, but should be seen and needed She said.

The traditional Xilan KAP is very heavy, so he Fengqin improved his sewing techniques and applied the classic patterns of Xilan Kapu on bags and scarves, attracting many young customers.

At present, Tujia clothing production technology has been selected into the seventh batch of representative projects of Yichang City intangible cultural heritage. He Fengqin also took the initiative to "touch the Internet" and set up new media accounts to widely publicize Tujia ethnic costumes. At the same time, she promotes Tujia ethnic costumes into the campus, integrates Tujia elements into the school uniform design of primary and secondary school students, and makes the "intangible cultural heritage workshop" a research and learning base for primary and secondary schools.

"I want to train more young generations of inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, so that Tujia ethnic costumes can be passed on from generation to generation." He Fengqin called on Changyang university students to "speak for the intangible cultural heritage" of their hometown, and hoped to cooperate with young people to inspire more innovative design and creative inspiration.
