During the Cotton Subsidy in Xinjiang, did long staple cotton growers receive cotton subsidies as agreed?

A long staple cotton grower in Awati County of Xinjiang said that cotton subsidies had been received before the Spring Festival. The first batch of subsidy output was cotton sales as of October 31st, and the subsidy standard was 1.2 yuan / kg.

The first batch of long staple cotton subsidies was also issued to cotton growers from December.

According to their understanding, at present, local long staple cotton growers have basically received cotton subsidies. Only a few cotton farmers have made mistakes in the input of output and area information, resulting in failure to receive them on time, but will be filled in second subsidies.

According to the implementation rules of Xinjiang cotton target price subsidy in 2015, the target price subsidy standard (yield part) of special cotton (including long staple cotton and colored cotton) in 2015 was 1.3 times of the target price subsidy standard (yield part) of upland cotton.

The cotton grower said that the first subsidy would be issued according to the fine cotton standard, and the higher part would be made up at the second time.

According to local cotton growers, the average selling price of long staple cotton seed cotton in 2015 was around 7.9 yuan / kg, which was significantly lower than that of 9.1 yuan / kg in 2014. In addition to last year's high temperature weather, long staple cotton was not only low in output but also inferior in quality.

Most cotton seed cotton yield per mu is 180-200 kg, and only a few cotton farmers can reach more than 200 kg per mu.

Even if the selling price dropped sharply compared with that in 2014, it still has an absolute advantage compared with the fine cotton (the average price of the local fine cotton sale is 5.8 yuan / kg). It is estimated that the enthusiasm of local cotton growers to grow long staple cotton in 2016 will still be higher than that of fine staple cotton.

At present, local cotton farmers have not yet received the news of the second time for the payment of specific subsidies. With the approaching of spring sowing and crop preparation work, the farmers' demand for funds is more urgent.
