Brand description: Yves Saint Laurent, the founder, was born in Algeria in 1936. At the age of 21, he was the chief designer of Dior Fashion, the most prestigious fashion company in the world. Yves Saint Laurent Born in Orlan, Algeria in 1936, he grew up in a sunny and affluent environment: there are servants who take care of the house, there are card playing parties, there are lunches in sailing clubs and theaters, and there are summers spent in the villa of TROUVILLE. His father is a successful businessman, while his mother is a regular customer of cocktail parties.
At the age of 17, Saint Laurent came to Paris. His family relationship and his foundation in sketch made him enter the fashion industry smoothly and began to work for Christian Dior. Four years later, Dior died and Saint Laurent took over the job. At the funeral of Dior in 1957, the young designer met Pierre Borg, who later became his lover and the decision maker of the future YSL Fashion Kingdom. Saint Laurent designed six series of fashion for Dior in his first press conference, which won the attention of the public and showed his trapezoidal skirt. Yves Saint Laurent didn't use the name YSL until 1961, when he broke up with Dior with secrets and rumors. Since his first fashion show on January 29, 1962, the connection of the three curve letters has become a sign of fashion style change and shocked the authorities.
At the age of 60, he broke the limitation of high birth and rich education stipulated in the fashion custom. Saint Laurent feels the pulse of the times and interprets it with fashion. His model was wearing a black leather and crocodile leather motorcyclist jacket and thigh boots. The initial idea of feminism was a burst from Saint Laurent's innovative Tastar series in the autumn of 1966. Soon pants became the representative of YSL fashion. YSL showed his support for abandoning bras with his flesh colored skirt, Tashi trousers and perspective clothes.
In 1977, those pale, crotch free, flat chested models of Saint Laurent were replaced by those tall, dark skinned, plump models. The women in the Muslim boudoir walked out with head scarf and red felt hat. His fashion began to reflect his curiosity about Morocco, China, Japan and Spain. In the same year, the opium brand perfume also came into being.
Yves Saint Laurent rose to the status of a master in the 1980s, accumulating trophies and retrospective exhibitions without interruption. In 1982, he was awarded the International Fashion Award by the American Association of Fashion Designers. The Capital Museum opened a 25 year retrospective exhibition for Saint Laurent in 1983 and then exhibited it in Moscow.
In the early 1990s, his design was very elegant and perfect, but SUZYMENKES, the fashion editor of International HERALDTRIBUNE, thought that Saint Laurent could not design any new works. He seems more interested in business. On January 19, 1993, Berger carefully and successfully arranged the business merger between Yves Saint Laurent's fashion company and ELF-SANOFI, a French state-owned petrochemical company.
