Portuguese statistics released in September 2007 showed that Portugal's average inflation rate in recent 12 months has dropped to 2.4%, down 0.1 percentage points from the previous 12 months. In September this year, Portugal's inflation rate continued to maintain at 2.1%, unchanged from August's data.

The consumer price index in September increased by 0.4 percentage points, mainly due to the increase in clothing and footwear prices by more than 10.1 percentage points.
