In recent years, the state has imposed strict control policies on tanning industry from environmental protection. The development of leather industry has been affected. But it is undeniable that China's leather industry is still the most important leather making force in the world, and the industry scale still ranks first in the world.

At present, the global economic situation is complex, and the European economy is even in turmoil. The leather industry of Italy, including the leather industry leader, has been shrinking dramatically.

Compared with them, China's tannery industry has a huge industrial chain, and has certain market demand support, and the impact is not big.

Because of the integrity of the industrial chain, especially leather shoes,

The great capacity of leather products industry, such as leather sofa, leather car seat and so on, has attracted the leather industry all over the world to rush to China and develop China's leather market as much as possible. This has greatly stimulated the confidence of China's tanning industry and made a sharp contrast with the decline of the traditional leather powers such as Europe and the United States.

As the leather industry in Europe and America, Korea, Japan and other countries is shrinking, the investment in R & D of new products and technologies has dropped sharply, and the decline of leather industry including leather industry has been further accelerated.

This is a good opportunity for China's leather industry to catch up with each other. I believe it will not take too long. The strong position of leather industry in Europe and the United States will be replaced by Chinese counterparts.

The author has repeatedly stressed that the future Chinese leather industry and even the leather industry's real rival is India, which is located in Asia.

It is also a developing country with a large population in India. Like China, there are many tannery production bases in India.

Although the scale of its industry is considerable, it is still difficult to match China.

Especially in the downstream industry of leather industry, the gap between China and India is quite obvious. The leather industry chain is not perfect in China, and the overall scale still has a big gap. Therefore, most of the capacity of leather industry in China still needs to rely on export to digest, a large part of which needs to be digested in the Chinese market, and its opportunities are obviously not as good as that of China's leather industry.

This congenital deficiency hindered the development speed of leather industry in India and delayed the power of technological innovation.

In other developing countries and regions, such as Africa, Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand, Turkey, Brazil, Argentina, etc., despite the rapid development of leather industry in recent years, some of the leather industry in the coastal areas of China has been pferred to the above countries and regions, but it does not mean that these countries will be the center of the leather industry in the future.

The tannery industry in these countries and regions is hardly comparable with China's leather industry in terms of industrial scale or the perfection and matching degree of its industrial chain.

Due to the constraints of various objective conditions, it is believed that the above countries and regions will hardly be able to threaten China's tanning industry and make it harder for China's leather industry to play a leading role in the global leather industry.

It is precisely because of the obvious advantages of China's leather industry in the global industry, especially in terms of market demand, that despite the dual pressures of market and national environmental policies, enterprises still do not forget to invest more in new products and technologies.

At the national level, in order to promote industrial upgrading, the state has given significant policy support in technological innovation, especially in the areas of energy conservation, consumption reduction and emission reduction.

In order to achieve sustainable development of leather industry, the state has invested huge sums of money, and set up a national tannery cleaner technology center at Sichuan University, and set up a scientific and technological research team on leather cleaning technology, headed by Professor Shi Bi, academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering.

In order to promote the development of China's leather industry, the state has set up a professional tanning specialty for undergraduate education in Sichuan University (formerly Chengdu University of Science and Technology) and Shaanxi University of Science and Technology.

This is unique in the whole world, and also shows the importance of the state in leather industry.

It is these colleges and universities that have continuously pported a large number of leather science and technology talents to China and even the global leather industry, thus promoting the development of leather industry in the world.

Under the strong support of the state, under the urgent demand of the market, a large number of enterprises that aspire to the development of the industry have spared no effort to develop environmentally friendly leather chemicals, develop energy-saving, emission reduction and consumption reduction equipment, innovate waste water recycling technology, develop new leather making process and tannery materials, and have made some achievements in many aspects, which is quite inspiring.

When these tannery enterprises' efforts are successful and widely used in leather production on a certain day, they will surely be a new technological revolution in the modern leather industry.

Such a systematic and technological innovation research in leather industry will change the face of leather making industry and push the Chinese leather industry to the leading position of the new leather technology in the world.

By that time, China's leather industry will not only be bigger but also strong and big.

In the past two years, the chairman of the International Leather Association and the chairman of the international leather craft and chemist association were held by Zhang Shuhua, chairman of China Leather Association and Professor Shi Bi, Professor of Sichuan University.

This is the development history of leather industry in the past more than 100 years. The two top positions of the global leather industry were first appointed by the Chinese people, marking the focus of the leather industry in the world from the west to the East. This is also a reflection of the importance of China's leather industry in the global leather industry.
