In combination with the learning process and achievements of the students in the eighth textile advanced training class, Duan Xiaoping, Vice President of China Textile Industry Federation, put forward four suggestions for everyone's future development: first, we should be serious, rigorous and steady, and we should be more careful, serious and focused than ever before. The second is the normalization of exchange and cooperation. We hope that the textile advanced training class can become a "club" of the normalized textile industry chain, a platform for cultivating friendship and mutual learning, a platform for helping each other solve problems, upstream and downstream cooperation in developing new products, and a platform for reducing risk and joint investment. Zhao Mingxia, director of the Trade Office of the China Textile Industry Federation and vice president of the Industrial Economics Research Institute, said.
As for the current development situation of the industry, Zhao Mingxia said that in 2024, the development situation faced by China's textile industry is still complex and severe on the whole, but the industry has accumulated development resilience through years of transformation and upgrading, and all major operating indicators have achieved positive growth, making positive contributions to the "stable growth" of the national economy. In recent years, China's textile industry has made every effort to promote high-end, intelligent and green transformation and upgrading, and has made continuous progress in advanced manufacturing, material innovation, integrated innovation and other fields, effectively improving development resilience and core competitiveness, laying a solid foundation for the industry to cope with complex external situations and basically maintain stable development.
Looking forward to the future, Zhao Mingxia said that the textile industry should focus on the era proposition of Chinese modernization, gather technology, fashion and green, and accelerate the construction of a modern textile industry system. From the micro level of enterprises, we should combine the consumption upgrading trend of the domestic demand market, strengthen innovative development, actively open up new fields of fiber products application, and activate new hot spots in the consumer market. In Unleashing Creative Potential: Textiles as a Catalyst for Cross disciplinary Innovation and Successful Commercialization, Li Li, a professor of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, shared his research on innovation fields, creative fibers, yarns and textile examples, explained the internal reasons for the success of creative textiles in promoting commercialization, and emphasized the importance of using creativity and imagination to conduct cross disciplinary research.
Li Li said that the innovative combination of creativity and technology provides more opportunities for different industries. For example, focusing on the research and development and application of far-infrared functional fiber, improving its thermal performance and expanding its application in medical and other fields, while emphasizing the concept of environmental protection, to ensure the accuracy of experiments and the effectiveness of design concepts; Focusing on the mechanical properties of non-woven fiber and its spinning application after treatment, its hairless and fluffy characteristics make its application scenarios broader; In addition, the research on the application of carbon fiber sensors in archaeological protection, biological field, composite materials, etc., the process and implementation of integrating philosophical thinking into technological innovation and positioning the ToC market, are both interesting and enlightening.
For how to better combine science and technology and creativity, Li Peng suggested that: first, we should constantly explore and realize the effective combination of science and creativity, so that interdisciplinary research can truly become a scientific research led by design creativity. The second is to cooperate with more enterprises and actively carry out creative innovation experiments, so that experimental innovative products can be rapidly industrialized. The third is to introduce talents with good comprehensive qualities such as creativity, sense of responsibility, understanding and action, hoping to find a new development path in the textile field that meets the needs of the times.
Value innovation and blue ocean strategy
In the current market competition, most enterprises still take the Red Sea strategy as the main development path, that is, they choose to carry out business activities in the existing market space based on the traditional way. This means competing for share in a limited market, facing fierce competition, limited market growth, and relying on cost control as the main means of competition. In contrast, the blue ocean strategy attracts non customer groups through value innovation, creates new market demand, and opens up new growth space for enterprises. Sun Xiao, a visiting professor of Wuhan Textile University, shared his ideas based on value innovation and blue ocean strategy.
Sun Xiao said that the game theory has well explained the current situation of most enterprises choosing the Red Sea strategy. It is difficult for enterprises to get out of this dilemma. In order to effectively implement the blue ocean strategy, enterprises need to fully understand the value chain, use tools such as strategic canvas and ERRC grid, accurately analyze the market situation, position key innovation factors, fully tap customer groups, and develop targeted strategic plans. For example, by redefining the circus's value proposition to customers, the Sun Theater has successfully realized the leap from the red ocean to the blue ocean. For another example, Netflix successfully defeated blockbuster with the DVD rental model and successfully transformed in the streaming media era, providing valuable enlightenment for enterprises to keep pace with the times and constantly innovate and transform. In addition, enterprises can learn from the experience of the launch of Ford Model T, use the strategic canvas to analyze the competitive factors in the industry, and use the ERRC grid to find ways to reduce or eliminate drawbacks, improve and create new value, and enhance the competitiveness of products or services. In practical operation, we should pool our wisdom and make scientific use of a series of tools of blue ocean strategy, which can better form innovative ideas and plans, and also ensure effective implementation.
