London Sotheby's And Guo Pei, China's High Ranking Designer, Will Join Hands In The Auction.

In July 12th, London Sotheby's auction house announced that it will work with China's high resolution designer Guo Pei to jointly build a "Gold: GOLD: The Midas Touch" themed auction.

It is reported that the auction will be held in Sotheby's London auction house on October 29, 2019. The auction will cover contemporary art works, Russian art works, design, furniture and decoration works, Asian and India art works, sculpture, medieval manuscripts, watches and jewelry, and many other works of art, designed by Guo Pei. In addition, the auction will also display four important fashion design works in Guo Pei's design career.

Guo Pei said: "I have always wanted to cooperate with well-known institutions such as Sotheby's. I hope that through the Sotheby's auction, more art lovers will have the opportunity to see the true value of my fashion design works.

As a modern messenger of Chinese traditional culture, Guo Pei has been committed to integrating the best traditional Chinese craft into contemporary and modern western style. The gold element, as a symbol of Chinese royal costume, has always been applied by Guo Pei to his fashion design.

In 2015, Guo Pei boarded the international fashion design stage with his golden skirt designed for American pop queen Rihanna. In 2017, he again surprised the fashion industry with the Golden Legend of Paris's spring and summer high definition series. Last year, Guo Pei's personal documentary "Yellow is Forbbiden" appeared at the cubeca Film Festival in New York. One of the Guo Pei designs of the auction was "LITTLE GOLD" dress, which also showed her blend of traditional and modern features. The "little gold" dress lasted more than 40000 hours, and was made of metal fiber thread and India wire embroidery. This wire embroidery method requires extremely elaborate techniques, because one needle per seven pins will break.

Guo Pei's design works have been inspired by fairy tales, legends and war stories. Behind every work is a story full of beauty, romance and imagination. She turned the fabric, shape and texture into canvas and repainted the old stories.

In 2006, Guo Pei held his first fashion show, "reincarnation", and the inspiration from the fashion show was a visit to Paris Museum of art. She was attracted by the military uniform of Napoleon's army, and her intricate details and embroidery patterns moved her face.

The war brought death, but those soldiers were still dressed exquisitely at the moment of death. It was this mysterious dignity that made Guo Pei feel immortal. In the "rebirth" fashion series, Guo Pei uses color language from the subtle beige to the deep dark blue to explain the change of time and the nature of life cycle.

In addition, Guo Pei's works will be exhibited in Sotheby's New York Asian Art Week in September this year, at the gallery of Sufu Bjork road.
