   New textile products Imminent enforcement

After a year of transition, the new version of the national basic safety technical specification for textile products will be implemented in August 1st this year. This is a recent report from a news conference on quality control technology of children's garment accessories. Banned azo The detection of "4- azobenzene" has increased from 23 to 24 kinds of banned azo.

It is reported that in the first half of this year, the banned azo was also detected in the quality inspection of children's clothing.

The number of azobenzene disqualification increased in the first half year

National Textiles clothing Zhang Yulian, senior engineer of the product quality supervision and Inspection Center (Guangzhou), said that the main problems found in children's clothing spot checks included: banned aromatic amine dyes with carcinogenic activity, banned azo dyes, formaldehyde content exceeding standard, pH value being alkaline, poor color fastness, discoloration or staining; fiber content was unworthy of name; sewing or sewing clothes were not strong enough, and heavy metals could be extracted.

In the long term contact with prohibited human azo dyes, dyes can be absorbed by the skin and spread in the body. These dyes may undergo reductive reaction under the biochemical reaction conditions of normal metabolism of human body, decompose carcinogenic aromatic amines, and alter the DNA structure of human body after activation, causing human diseases or inducing cancer.

Zhang Yulian introduced that more than 300 azo dyes were banned internationally, and they might release 24 kinds of carcinogenic aromatic amines. The new national standard GB 18401-2010 "national textile product basic safety technical specification" has increased this kind of azo detection.

It is worth noting that the new standard also stipulates that the limit value of banned azo is not greater than 20mg/kg, and the old standard does not require it.

Zhang Yulian said that in the first half of this year, the ratio of disqualified azobenzene was slightly higher than that of last year.

Pocket cloth interlining is easy to cause trouble.

Zhang Yulian said that the banned azo exceeded the standard in the pocket cloth and the lining cloth, because these fabrics are cheap, and manufacturers often do not pay much attention to the purchase of dyes.

She said that children's clothing manufacturers should also inspect the purchased fabric accessories, so as to better avoid children's products banned from azo dyestuff projects.

Wang Xueyan, from Huntsman textile dyeing and finishing (China) Co., Ltd., told reporters that the price of prohibited azo dyes is ten times lower than that of dyes that are not contained. Great interests drive enterprises to take risks.
